Religious guidance still matters.

This tool estimates value only. It does not decide which assets, jewellery, debts, or personal circumstances should be included. Consult a qualified scholar for a binding ruling.

Method and guidance

Understand the estimate before using it.

The figures are visible and editable. The religious treatment of your holdings remains a personal question for a qualified scholar.

Which Nisab figures does this calculator use?

The calculator offers a gold basis of 85 grams and a silver basis of 595 grams, matching current UAE AWQAF guidance. Choose the basis advised for your circumstances.

Does the calculator decide whether personal jewellery is zakatable?

No. Treatment of personal jewellery differs by school of thought: the Hanafi position includes worn gold and silver jewellery, while other schools treat it differently. The tool estimates value; ask a qualified scholar what should be included.

What period and percentage does the estimate assume?

It assumes the relevant assets have completed one lunar year and applies 2.5%. It does not assess ownership, debts, essential needs, or other personal conditions.

How are gold and silver valued?

Gold is adjusted for the selected karat, silver for the selected purity, and both use the latest available market-rate snapshot. The calculation shows the pure-metal weight and value used.
